The impending crisis

Ever since the announcement by PKR advisor Anwar Ibrahim to contest in Permatang Pauh, there is so much hype to the extent it’s fair to say that the imminent battle royale against the BN is going to be every Malaysian’s concern.
The logic is simple since the rise or fall of Anwar in this pivotal by-election, as well as his capability to form a new government subject to the sodomy trial, may determine the do or die of this country too, and undoubtedly, if the performance of the current government to be used as a yardstick, I’m sure a lot of Malaysians, no matter how much they distrust or dislike Anwar, are ready to give him the benefit of doubt and one (and the only one) chance to carry out his promised reforms and subsequently reviving the ailing nation which is continuously ruined by racial politics, deteriorating economical situation, rapidly raising living cost and more importantly, the weak leadership of no other than the PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi who is infamous of being neither here nor there.
Last night, the atmosphere of the impending by-election in Permatang Pauh intensified when the Penang CM Lim Guan Eng asking the Permatang Pauh constituents to award Anwar with not merely a win, but a resounding win with bigger majority to enable Pakatan Rakyat to topple the Barisan Nasional and capture the federal administration in a convincing way.
Anwar, on the other hand, in his maiden speech in his former stronghold since the announcement to contest, emphasized the importance of the impending by-election in order to ensure that Pakatan Rakyat under his leadership is able to initiate crucial changes to save the country from the crisis.
Earlier, he stressed that irregardless of the outcome for the sodomy accusation, he vows to stand in the by-election even if he is to be held behind the bars.
Meanwhile, as for the Barisan Nasional camp, despite numerous calls from Umno leaders like Kelantan Umno liaison committee chairperson Annuar Musa and Deputy Health Minister Abdul Latiff Ahmad to boycott the by-election, their suggestions were rubbished off by the DPM Najib Tun Razak.
"It’s not about only winning or losing but BN must present a choice to the Permatang Pauh voters," said Najib
In another word, BN is ready to go on full gear (impeccably with loads of money too, of course!) and put in their entire machinery in an almost impossible mission to stop Anwar from winning the seat, with the name of the scapegoat is yet to be made known and will only be decided by the BN supreme council tomorrow.
Nevertheless, like it or not, the battle is on. As a matter of fact, we’re indeed are being put through another turbulence period, hence it’s time for us to be prepared and embrace it, especially when a renewed tumultuous political situation tantamount to 1998 Reformasi seems inevitable should Anwar be formally charged for the sodomy accusation, which is obviously going to be put under intense public scrutiny.
The eerie thought of a Prime Minister in waiting behind the bars, together with the ever unpredictable "rules of law" is being practiced repetitively on numerous occasions lately, is anything less than the act of seeking divine intervention to save the nation is insufficient?
Pray do tell that in the end of the day, the full realization of a impartial rule of law will prevail in Malaysia, the best we can hope for as of now.

Penang has always had brave, hardy people as its citizens. They will call a spade a spade. I am sure Permatang Pauh voters will see Anwar for the dignified man that he is.
I am curious to see what lengths the DPM will go to for this by-election. Will he do a Mugabe-style hunt and kill? Will he fix and tamper with votes?
And I know that any sentient Malaysian being will know rubbish like the DPM when they see it. No one wants a repeat of the Mahathir years. NOBODY.

SK, you’ve just got your comments column up and running just in time to sound the clarion call for action in Permatang Pauh.
Once and for all, let’s call for the BN to get the clearest message yet that they are riding into the sunset.
Time and again I hear the obsolete BN politicians still making references to DSAI’s promise to reduce petrol by 50 sen per liter when he becomes PM and how this is easier said than done. Don’t the BN politicians get it? It’s no longer about the 50 sen reduction. It’s about how fed-up we are with the decadent values of BN.
So DSAI it is for Permatang Pauh, and with the most resounding victory ever!
