A sodomy allegation: The invisible hand(s)?

Same shit, different day.
That’s what we called the politics of distraction.
Now the entire blogosphere is putting the entire focus on the sodomize allegation against PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim and screw inflation, screw the RM2.70/liter petrol price, screw the spiraling living cost, whereas these issues become so trivial.
As usual, Malaysians mudah lupa.
Now, back to the case.
The allegation is a brilliant move to buy time as Anwar alleged that the authority knew he is going to announce a by-election this week, which has to put on hold for now.
But why Anwar? It appears that he is the only person who is capable of mobilizing the swing, so what they need to do is to prevent the MPs from meeting Anwar.
However, the plan to stifle him seems to backfire and proven to be futile in a way when he reiterated the plan to form a new government by September 16 is still on track.
"The momentum is still on, I will continue to monitor the progress. It has never been so good, they know that." […]
"Umno members and MPs have promised to come out and campaign for me so they come out with these sexual allegations to stop me from securing power."
While all pictures circulating on the internet seems to link the coffee boy to the DPM Najib Tun Razak, he strongly dismissed claims that he was involved in a conspiracy to ruin Anwar’s political career.
Nevertheless, I’m quite impressed by Najib’s elephant memory when he vividly recall the details of the photo taken at the DPM’s office.
"It was taken three months ago when he came to seek a government scholarship to pursue his studies as he (Saiful) is a student leader," he said.
It’s getting fishier and fishier as the events of the story seem to unfold by itself effortlessly from one end to the other.

It is the beginning of a very interesting, twisted and complex saga in Malaysia political arena, since Merdeka I would say.
It is also the beginning of some very difficult times for the Rakyat; increase inflation, increase oil, increase nasi lemak, crumbling KLSE.

ANWAR THE GREAT BOLLYWOOD ACTOR!
One interesting outcome from this latest ‘bontot’ event is the cleverness of Anwar in diverting the criminal case against him. Anwar is known for his dramatisation of events, if he wants something or trying to get out of the mud. Another round of blaming the government i.e. police, AG, UMNO, BN, DPM, PM, etc for his crime against nature.
Remember the Baling case during his student days? Or the last trial - remember the arsenic poisoning? Remember the complaint about his back pain? Remember the dog collar that always stuck on his neck when he went to courts? Remember he moved about on wheel chair? Now no back pain or neck pain! He was cured as soon as he was released from jail!
Now the truth has come out, he went to the Turkish Embassy uninvited said the Turkish Ambassador. He just deposited himself there to get international attention. He got many friends outside , who will believe him and make a strong outcry that his crime was fabricated. That’s what Anwar wants.
By the way, who wants him killed? If that is the case, he should have been assassinated a long time ago! Even before the opposition could win many state governments in the last elections. Anwar is best described as the great Hindustani or Bollywood actor. Pity his wife Azizah, she has to defend Anwar because he is her husband although she knows Anwar inside out.

It’s what and who you want to believe. You may brush-off the police report unlike the RPK’s sd. Others may believe this Saiful guy and not RPK. But I dismissed both.

Hi guys,
I quoted this from renovation blogged by stephendoss concerning Anwar’s sodomy cases issued previously…check it out..
“FOR THE BENEFIT OF READERS, I HAVE EXTRACTED FROM THE PAST THE JUDGMENT BY THE FEDERAL COURT OF MALAYSIA, ANWAR’S APPEAL AGAINST HIS CONVICTION ON SODOMY. THE FOLLOWING IS A MAJORITY DECISION REACHED BY THE JUDGES SITTING IN THE FEDERAL COURT ON THE ANWAR IBRAHIM APPEAL AGAINST HIS CONVICTION ON SODOMY.
PLEASE NOTE AND READ CAREFULLY THE VERDICT, THAT ALTHOUGH THE JUDGES HAD NO DOUBT IN THEIR MINDS THAT THE ACT OF SODOMY BY ANWAR IBRAHIM HAD TAKEN PLACE, BUT TO RELY SOLELY ON AZIZAN’S EVIDENCE WOULD BE UNSAFE FOR THE PURPOSES OF UPHOLDING THE JUDGEMENT.
SO DID THE ACT OF SODOMY TAKE PLACE ? YES ACCORDING TO THE JUDGES. BUT DUE TO A TECHNICALITY THEY HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DISMISS THE CASE.

MAJORITY JUDGMENT OF
ABDUL HAMID MOHAMAD F.C.J.
AND TENGKU BAHARUDIN SHAH TENGKU MAHMUD J.C.A.
In this judgment, Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim will be referred to as “the first appellant” and Sukma Darmawan Sasmitaat Madja will be referred to as “the second appellant”.
The first appellant was charged with an offence punishable under section 377B of the Penal Code.
The second appellant was charged with two offences. The first charge is for abetting the first appellant in the commission of the offence with which the first appellant was charged. The second charge is similar to the charge against the first appellant i.e. under section 377B of the Penal Code.
Both the appellants were tried jointly. The first appellant was convicted and sentenced to nine years imprisonment commencing from the expiry of the sentence he was then serving in the first trial. High Court Kuala Lumpur Criminal Trial No. 45-48-1998 (1999)2 M.L.J. 1 (H.C), (2002)2 M.L.J. 486 () and (2002) 3 M.L.J. 193 (F.C.)). The second appellant was convicted on both charges and sentenced to six years imprisonment and two strokes for each charge with the sentences of imprisonment to run concurrently. For the judgment of the High Court in the present case, see (2001) 3 M.L.J. 193.
They appealed to the Court of Appeal. Their appeals were dismissed – see (2004) 1 M.L.J. 177.
They appealed to this court and this is the majority judgment of this court.
Section 87(3) of the Courts of Judicature Act 1964 (“CJA 1964”) provides that a criminal appeal to this court “may lie on a question of fact or a question of law or on a question of mixed fact and law.” The position is the same as in the case of the Court of Appeal hearing an appeal from a trial in the High Court as in this case – see section 50(3) CJA 1964.
To summarise our judgment, even though reading the appeal record, we find evidence to confirm that the appellants were involved in homosexual activities and we are more inclined to believe that the alleged incident at Tivoli Villa did happen, sometime, this court, as a court of law, may only convict the appellants if the prosecution has successfully proved the alleged offences as stated in the charges, beyond reasonable doubt, on admissible evidence and in accordance with established principles of law. We may be convinced in our minds of the guilt or innocence of the appellants but our decision must only be based on the evidence adduced and nothing else.”

this saga is getting more international limelight it seems, now we’ve heard from the Turkish AND the Americans. Great, the Americans meddling with our affair is exactly what we need at this juncture. What drove them I wonder.

Just as I admired Tun Dr M (not that I had always agreed with his ideas) for his tenacity to hold on despite all odds, I have also admired DSAI for his own talents, including how to turn the tables on those plotting against him.
Actually, there was no need for DSAI to be an excellent Bollywood actor at all. The people were all to ready to believe whatever he said. Even if he fell short of credibility at times, his opponents allowed these opportunities to slip by. The people, and I mean the Malays, Chinese and Indians were all fed up of the BN-related parties. Decadent names associated to these parties had bee recycled and repackaged all too many times and regardless the extreme makeovers, the contents were just plain rotten.
Now just who will stand to gain the most with DSAI neutralized? The answer is obvious, whether DSAI continues to claim his innocence. Similarly, those who would jump at the opportunity of jubilating at DSAI’s supposed indiscretion are already doing so. And those who would not budge at believing DSAI’s innocence will continue to do so, regardless the number of mattresses that the prosecutors will bring to the courts this time.
So the parties involved in making the allegations had better be aware of what they are doing before the whole darn episode blows up in their face.
So, was DSAI a good actor? His admirers and fan club make him one.
