After we lost the ownership of Pulau Batu Puteh to Singapore while we get rocks in return, knee-jerk reactions are abundance.
The Deputy Finance Minister I Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said the Government was aware that there were lessons to be learnt from the case while Johor Menteri Besar Ghani Othman is quick to protect Johor as the rightful owner of another island which might cause dispute in the future, which is Pulau Pisang.
Having said all that, the entire scenario merely shows how reactive our Government is, instead of being initiative in taking pro-active stance when comes to sovereignty issue.
Another miscalculated step will lead to another potential disaster which is likely to be too costly for us to bear.
Hence, if Pulau Batu Upeh is a trivial affront to our pride and dignity, how about Iskandar Malaysia?
Irregardless of the possibilities, I bet it has been a wonderful kickoff campaign by our friendly neighbor Singapore, in the name of Pedra Branca.
