Some say some BN candidates are good, but …

For the past few days, I’ve been seeing a fair bit of BN’s candidates campaign slogans – promises and counter campaign against the Opposition’s slogans.

But, let me tell you this, I’m quite unimpressed by the way they put up such a big lie in the public.

Why?

Although I know there might be some good BN candidates out there who believe they’re able to make wonder and do some changes, but, let’s make no mistake about this.

No matter how good they’re, now matter how much resources they’ve, they just couldn’t really represent you, be it in the Parliament or during the coalition’s meeting.

Why?

Because the gag over from atop for not airing issues which are deemed insensitive in front of their so-called "partners" is too tremendous, and unfortunately, more importantly, those are the bread and butter who is the people’s concern, really.

Then again, some people are saying all the good things about the BN’s candidates.

It’s true that some candidates are outspoken.

It’s true that some candidates are sincere in trying their best to deliver the promises made, in which they do realize that, without the mandate from the the rakyat, they’re nothing.

It’s also true that some are saying what they believe as right ways of doing things, what they believe as helping to raise the voters’ concerns.

And eventually, what happened to them, really?

Look at Kelana Jaya MP Loh Seng Kok.

Look at Kota Baru MP Zaid Ibrahim.

They were dropped from contesting in this 12th GE!

Not good enough?

Need more examples of them?

If that’s the case, why not you tell me whether the representatives that you voted in are really representing you?

If not, why you continue to give away your rights to them by casting your very precious votes to them?

If not, why don’t you tell your friends, your neighbors, your relatives and etc. what’s really happening in this country?

If not now, when?

Do it and do it NOW!

Vote for change!

  • links from Technoratiya da, ya da, ya da… Granted, BN does have a few good individuals – persons of integrity that actually do service to the people. But as buddy blogger SK Thew has aptly pointed out, what’s the point of having a few worthy individuals, when theirvoices are snuffed, and they’re forced to toe the party line? And if they are outspoken, they’re eventually dropped in favor of more sycophantic candidates. Just look at what happened to Zaid Ibrahim and Loh Seng Kok (via MageP’s Lab and Screenshots, respectively)

don’t forget OTK, for the misused funds earmarked for refurbishment of several Chinese schools in Johor…the cabinet reprimands him…
what najib said:"I do not want to discuss the facts of the issue, but more on the principles."
MCA taiko OKT apologised on behalf of OKT
and now OTK is their friends…better eat some kolo mee laa OTK!

It is a simple consequence of dismantling all checks and balances against the executive.

Worry about activist courts? Remove the activists and make political appointments.

Worried that the legislative branch would act as a check on executive power? impose sanctions against voting differently from the party line.

Worried about regional dissent? Neuter states and give them very little power.

Worried about urban dissent? Keep municipal appointments centralised to the executive and extend the lack of local elections.

Worried about you own candidates forming dissenting opinions? Keep party elections as a function of who the old guard appoints as successor.

Worried that present MPs may try to oppose the party line by banding together? Remove any real authority from parliamentary  committees, as seen in the complete lack of regard the NRD’s head (an appointed official) pays to Dompok’s committee (formed of elected officials, elected by the people, it must be added)

In this sense, the BN leaders have pretty much everything sussed out. Keep power centralised, and you not only maintain a firm grip, you also ensure those who would succeed you in power would have to come through you.

    cheers

  • [...] Now, let’s take a look at what’s NOT about MP(s), since I’m sure by now, you must be amazed by what they’re capable of. [...]
