Chew Mei Fun is a loser!

Friday, February 29th, 2008 | 7:51 pm @ SK

Let me put it this way, PJ Utara incument Chew Mei Fun is a loser!

First, she rejected a rakyat’s initiative - PJ Utara Forum Rakyat.

Loser.

Next, she went offensive by indulging in personal attack against her opponent from DAP Tony Pua by claiming that he is a "bubble economy expert".

She continued to claim that Tony is not a successful businessman and joined politics due to his failure in business.

Tony has since condemned Chew’s dirty tactic and urged her to apologize and speaks in a fair manner. He also warned that if Chew continues with the defamation talk, he might consider taking legal action against her.

Loser for the time being, sore loser after March 8.

    She is afraid, really afraid.

    It shows.

SK, I though as a politician, Tony (and also you) should have expect to face all these attacks and bashing. If DAP politicians are so weak to handle a "single-woman", then how can we expect to see him representing the rakyat in parliament? It crossed my mind considering that thousands of attacks and bashing daily throws to the government and leaders, especially from the opposition.

Before we argue on who is the "real" loser, i wish to remind everyone on the financial report of Tony Pua’s Cyber Village before he left to become DAP ’s "economic" adviser (in case some of you guys may have missed it, or just tend to forget/ignore it):
In the 2005 annual report, Ernst & Young Singapore (pg 13) wrote:
As at the financial year ended 31 December 2005, the Company’s current liabilities exceeded its current assets by $260,077, and for that year the Group incurred a loss of $2,187,404. These factors indicate the existence of an uncertainty which may cast doubt as to whether the Company and the Group are able to continue as going concerns.
The ability of the Company and the Group to continue as going concerns is dependent on their ability to generate significant positive cash flows from the Group’s core specialist activities which is in turn dependent on the Group obtaining new profitable contracts and the successful outcome of the Group’s ongoing productivity improvements and cost reduction exercises.
The financial statements have been prepared on the assumption that the Company and the Group will continue as going concerns to meet their liabilities as and when they fall due and their businesses continuing to operate as planned. This assumption is premised on future events, the outcomes of which are inherently uncertain.
In the event that the Company and the Group are unable to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future, the Company and the Group may be unable to discharge their liabilities in the normal course of business and adjustments may have to be made to reflect the situation that assets, including intangibles, may need to be realised other than in the normal course of business and at amounts which could differ significantly from the amounts at which they are currently recorded in the balance sheets. In addition, the Company and the Group may have to reclassify non-current assets as current assets. No such adjustments have been made to these financial statements.
As disclosed in Note 3.3 the assessment of impairment of goodwill and intangibles involves estimating the expected future cash flows from the cash-generating units. If the Group is unable to generate significant positive cash flows in the future, the carrying values may differ significantly from the amounts at which they are currently recorded in the balance sheet.

    Another food of thought though.

what do you expect from a lady that uses 1969 to remind the community. ask her to spend more time looking after longkangs and street lights. dont need her to be a MP.

  4. josh says:

Rochester may have a point there.. still it is strange to call Tony a failure if he indeed successfully cash out of the business.

  5. Mr Tee says:

    About his business,

I presume this is what we are reading from the analyst’s report.

I wonder if how many of you indeed read the analyst report and then make up the decision of investing or not. I don’t, for one. Secondly, Successfully taken over means the company is actually viable and the future prospect there.

So if the business is not viable at all, why was the company taken over in the first instance? It doesnt matter the report is from Ernst & Young Singapore or ML, they are all the same, for the sake of commenting based on the tunnel data they have.

The most important thing here actually is, well, for anyone who has been in business for long time, I wonder if there is every successful moment at all…! Up and down is common, just like the DJIA. To talk about smooth ride in the business, is not impossible, but well, indeed rare.

But Tony is young, what is there is the coming days for us, and what he is projecting now.

To ask Chew, what else can she offer after all these years?

  6. NoktahHitam says:

I believe Chew Mei Fun lacks tactical.

Tony sold his business to chase after his passion, whats wrong with that?

I was Tony, I would have taken legal action without a second thought or a warning

  7. ronchester says:

YH, the lady just wish to remind you that "the one who doesn’t remember the history is bound to repeat it again". If politic is just about looking after longkangs and street lights, so is that also what you expecting from Tony, Kit and Anwar when they got elected? Think before speak.

Josh, my point is just to tell everyone that no one (especially Tony and SK) should react like this with the accusations. Act like a gentleman especially when comes to treating a lady. If thats the case I believe the voters will be on your side.

    All the best.

The fact that he started something, cashed out, and moved back to Malaysia is good enough to win over Chew. How

    many Chinese can

    (1) Start off something in spore?

    (2) Make a fortune.

    (3) Migrate home to Msia.

Now tell me what Chew has done in her life.

  9. bayi says:

"Loser for the time being, sore loser after March 8."

Of course, it is my hope that Tony wins. But I have not wish to run down the loser. And I am not already presuming that Tony will definitely win.

I don’t see Tony as a failure, report or no report from EY. If a person is in dire conditions and he manages to get himself out of it with flying colors, how can he be a failure? The fact that a party buys over Tony’s business at a good price is an indication that there is goodwill as well as a workable model and infrastructure.

But we don’t have to run down Mei Fun. To each his beliefs. Let the loser (whoever he is) lose with honor and let the winner be magnanimous. Then the country and its citizen will win hands down.

    koolgeek

look after drains and streetlights very well. at least, she has her specialty. just wondering if thats the job of a MP.
on the flip side, she dont even have the guts to defend her gender when sexists MPs from BN insulted women with BOCOR comments.

  11. kawan says:

Come on lar. Chew Mei Fun can’t even come close to the dirty  tactics used by other DAP leaders. However I do I think Tony is a nice person and probably a leader with vision. But too bad he joined the wrong party. If not he might have gone further.

  12. bayi says:

If Chew Mei Fun’s strengths lies in clearing the gutters and lighting the streets, she can run Michael Chong’s service centre branch in PJ!

  13. OMS says:

Actually what does the EY report has to do with a man self worth? Success or failure is up to individual interpretation.  A person who has cash out with many millions maybe consider a failure by Ronchester.
Responding to Chew Mei Fun personal attacks is consider " DAP is so weak as to be afraid of one women attacks."

I would say that Chew & Chew are so bankrupt of ideas that they resort to dirty tactics. You can only go so low.

    Get real, you apple polisher.

  14. OMS says:

So what is new kawan ku. What about BN dirty tatics? Phantom votes, postal votes and so on. Get real this is politics and not a religious social club.
