Cheap gimmick, Pak Najib …

Gimmick, cheap political gimmick.

On Sunday, Deputy Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak apologized for the demolition of a Hindu temple on the eve of Deepavali last year.

"The demolition should not have been carried out a week before Deepavali. The relevant authorities could have postponed it one or two months later. That was wrong on their part. We are sorry for that," he said.

That’s a very sweet confession, Mr. Najib.

Unfortunately, it takes the Government more than 3 months after the incident to apologize over the unscrupulous act and the timing couldn’t be more right in exposing the lack of sincerity of the Government, just when the general election is just around the corner.

To add insult to injury, which I believe is the saddest part, undoubtedly shows how democracy works in Malaysia – alive in Malaysia once in every 5 years, which is when their votes are essential to ensure the Barisan Nasional government manages to pull through for another 2/3 majority in this coming election, hence the more blank promises.

Vote for BN? Yes, you’ve a choice to vote for BN, but first, one must ensure that sufficient reforms are being undertaken to improve the plight of the Indian communities, who have long suffered and being marginalized under the current regime which pushed them into the corner and subsequently led to the Hindraf protest.

This dirty tactic is not unprecedented. It has became a repeated occasion over the period, so do not allow them to ruin your life until you’ve given them the right to do so, that’s when you’ve no one but yourself to put the blame on.

So brothers and sisters, say NO to gimmick, do the right thing when you cast your ballot soon.
