When Indian non-governmental organisations had a private meeting with PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi last Friday, various issues were brought up as well as to convince the premier that Indian communities in Malaysia are facing a serious crisis.
Now, you must be wondering what MIC president S Samy Vellu has been doing all this while for the past few decades he is at helm as the self-proclaimed Indian communities representative?
Is he up there to stifle his own communities?
Is he up there to watch with own eyes on how his Indian friends continue to be grinded?
Is he up there doing absolutely nothing, notwithstanding the fact that his own marginalised Indian communities continue to retrogress in term of socio-economics standing in this country, unequal education opportunities and many other issues?
Suffice to say, he is incapable and useless beyond doubts. That doesn’t augur well for his position as the sole representative in the cabinet ever since he was appointed as the MIC president, so put him under internal scrutiny within MIC, eliminate him via democracy means, after all, I believe MIC representatives do not elect him out of a sudden whim, do they?
Now what, talk about "Non-Muslim Affairs Department", do we really need to create a new breach to address sensitive issues pertaining to religion? If ever there is a need for this, the right thing to do is for the people fighting for the cabinet to enshrine those issues during the weekly cabinet meeting instead of fighting for the establishment of yet-another-feeble department, don’t you think so?
Then, the imperative questions to ask are, does Pak Lah the PM with the big ears willing to commit to this concept? Do the likes of Ong Ka Ting, S Samy Vellu and other non-Bumi ministers ever have the guts to stand up and fight for what they claim to be rather than kowtow-ing to protect their own rice bowls?
It’s disheartening that after 50 years of independence, as we’re moving into 50+1, when the others are preparing to embrace a new wave of globalisation, not only we’re still pursuing the infighting to determine a national identity, but continues to be plagued by another prolonged racial crisis?
Wake up, you people, when are you ready to harness the people’s power and tell the morons that enough is really enough??!!
I’m sick of it.

Hey, I hear you. It is very sickening how things are becoming in Malaysia even though we have had independence for 50 years. Samy Vellu’s dedication towards his own people are as real as his toupee, unfortunately.
What we can do now is put our votes to good use come election period. It can be done, we just need to have a little faith ….and some anger to fuel the passion for change.
:) Keep it up.

typo. pfft.
Every time a wrong is perpetuated, there is a tendency to set up a new department or body to deal with it. Soon we will have so many departments that are a waste of public funds.
Just take steps to set the wrong right again and make sure it doesn’t happen again.
If we say that the non-Malays are marginalised and so we need a non-Muslim Affairs Department, Are we saying that we are allowing what has caused the marginalisation to continue and then have a department to deal with it?
Just set the policies right and have them executed correctly. No racial favouritism. No corruption. No religious bias. This is what MIC and MCA have failed to do. And they have failed miserably.
AAB has also failed us in not taking any positive action to stop the rot.
Go back to the basics of the Constitution. There is no need for any new department. Our rights are guaranteed there. Why are the rights not provided?
Let the leaders walk the talk. Don’t let the clowns hijack our rights.
