Majulah Singapura! …. with ZAM

In the Press Freedom Index 2007 recently released by Reporters Without Borders (RSF), among 169 countries surveyed, Malaysia plunged 32 notches from 92nd in 2006 to 124th in 2007, the worst ranking ever since the annual Press Freedom Index was institutionalised in 2002.

However, Information Minister Zainuddin Maidin a.k.a ZAM is unperturbed and he even speak alongside and singing the similar tune as Singapore Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew!

"The freedom preached by them is only rhetoric and their real value is money and for me, the only way to fight the Western values of press freedom is by emulating Lee Kuan Yew’s way," he said.

The LKY’s way mentioned by ZAM is by taking legal actions and fighting the Western values of press freedom, where he cited the example of LKY winning the case had proven to the world that the Western media valued money more than press freedom.

It was only last week when the senior Lee sarcastically mentioned about the possibility of re-joining Malaysia if and only if meritocracy is being practised when he was interviewed by American journalist Tom Plate.

They have got all the resources. If they would just educate the Chinese and Indians, use them and treat them as their citizens, they can equal us and even do better than us and we would be happy to rejoin them.

This round, LKY was taken as a natural shield when the need arises. However, when thing goes wrong or rather, not as what they don’t expect him to be, LKY would always serve as the trump card (the easy way out) and basically, that’s how contradicting is the political scenario right here in Malaysia.

Unprecedented by LKY? No, he will keep trying on firing blank rounds on Malaysia, pulling whoever’s leg at his discretion.

Unprecedented by ZAM? You bet.

Surprised? Well, not anymore.

Malaysia Boleh? What about Majulah Singapura?!
