One is our former prime minister Tun Dr. Mahathir who was at helms of the government for 22 years, transforming an agriculture kingdom into a knowledge capital society, it’s an amazing feat by all means.
Currently, Tun M is under treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN) after having undergone a coronary bypass operation on Sept 4 and an operation on Sept 22 to clean the wound.
According to Tun’s daughter Marina Mahathir, Tun’s health has improved and he really wants to go home as soon as possible.
Another Angkasawan is a 14 year-old lady Tee Hui Yi, who has been living on a mechanical heart, underwent a second heart transplant on Oct 5, after her body rejected the first heart transplanted in her on Oct 3.
It’s the strong fighting spirit and determination to survive in the face of a life-threatening illness that win the hearts of millions of Malaysians!
That’s truly the people’s Angkasawan.
