Damn streamyx!

Since last Friday, streamyx connection at my area was down and subsequent reports were made daily to seek the latest update.

After a few days of typical update from the customer service, they put the blame on faulty fibre optic exchange, with no tentative date given on when the service will be back to normal.

The only good part with all these daily calls is that Telekom agreed to give rebate on pro-rate basic, starting from the day the service is down.

But that’s not the main point. The inconvenience caused due to the unavailability of internet service is such a great pain that I’m still struggling with internet withdrawal syndrome.

It’s time to sought for EDGE/3G service? Suggestion please.

Taikor…they will only process your rebate 3 months later.
Check your area covered with metrofone, heard it is not bad…

STREAMYX IS A VIRTUAL MONOPOLY = crap service, expensive service fees and and a ‘kiss-my-arse’ attitude.
For goodness sake, if you get short changed complain as often as is necessary, and follow up frequently. The replies received can be inane, repetitive and annoying but  press on regardless, they will eventually give a rebate.

Everyone says StreamyX is monopoly, yet no one is doing anything about it. Does it really sound like monopoly ?

Tried Celcom 3G for 6 months quite good coverage, but it has no EDGE. Tried Digi for nearly 1 year very stable but got only EDGE Did not try Maxis.

I had the same problem a couple of months ago — on two occasions. And no rebate! I am thinking of 384kbits Celcom 3G (available throughout the country, I am in Pangkor Island) but thought the device will cost a fortune.

Don’t be hoodwinked by the advertisement. Celcom 3G available in major towns only, the rest is GPRS which is slower that EDGE.Use 3G phone as modem to connect to your computer rather than buying a 3G stand alone modem card which is expensive
