Together with two other crew from Russia and United States, the Russian Soyuz-FG, adorned with a Malaysian flag, lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

Since the early days of space race between US and Soviet, sending a person into space has more to do with politics than science. It is the same for this case. Piggybacking on a space mission is nothing to be proud about.
