6 months into Visit Malaysia Year 2007

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007 | 12:54 am @ SK

Honestly, I feel like want to puke when flash flood, not-so-SMART tunnel, toll announcement and Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi calling for all flood aviation projects to be completed as soon as possible took place in two days.

"Why RM2? It’s because the developer has spent RM640 million to build a four-kilometre road inside the tunnel. The surcharge imposed for similar facilities in other countries like Hong Kong is much higher," Works Minister S Samy Vellu said.

Hehehehehe, how can you blame Samy when the Government is yet to spend billions of ringgit to deepen rivers in the city? Blame the weather, blame the not-fully-functional smart tunnel, blame MIC members or Sungai Siput voters if you can’t afford to blame your blood cheap life.

Before that, this is what you and I, as well as tourists witnessed with naked eyes.

Unfortunately, that’s how Malaysia looks like 6 months into Visit Malaysia Year 2007.

Niamah!!!

And you thought that things will be different with the SMART highway?  SOS.  I will be surprise when flash floods cease to be a problem in KL.

It seems that there are more and more  weather causing havocs. May be it is a way of telling us that things are not right somewhere. Either we buck up or we will lose the comfort of this country.

    how sad.

  4. bayi says:

DBKL had better be stringent with the construction projects. Make sure concrete and construction waste materials are not dumped into our rivers.

Samy Vellu is all talk - how come this dirtbag did not get washed away with the floods? How can a Capital City be allowed to flood? This is riduculous. But then again it is Malaysia - anything is possible. Since this is Visit Malaysia Year, maybe the Government is trying to show tourists that we have alot of water supply & that KL is infact a floating City! As for the MIC building getting flooded, hope all the scumbags in the building got a good cleaning. Macam mana pun Malaysia Boleh!

  8. bayi says:

for a moment, i thought semi value had teamed up with syabas to make kl into one big dam to store more water in anticipation of future water shortages.

  9. bayi says:

or, on second thought, perhaps we should promote water tourism. i mean, offer the visitors a sampan ride (no, perhaps we should call it a cruise for better pr) to see how malaysia looks under water!

maybe we can even throw in some water sports!

    what say you, samy ayoyo?
