Malaysia, truly Malaysia

[UPDATED VERSION] I said it on 21 September 2005.
Parliament is the legislative authority for the Federation, and in this capacity, it makes laws applicable to the Federation as a whole. It thus wields a considerable and far-reaching influence on the life of the Federation.
Parliament passes federal laws, makes amendments to existing federal laws, examines the government’s policies, approves the government’s expenditures and approves new taxes.
A year afterwards, we’ve had MP who talked about his willingness to be raped by his wife.
It’s now May 2007. Two MPs commented about another MP’s menstruation.

I cant even imagine that I am living in a country run by such insensitive, errogant, uncivilized and shallow-minded "leaders". And you know what, they have 91% of the vote so once again they can run away with their head held up high as if nothing happened.
The best part is, this drama repeats itself every other time. Precious parliment time is lost and this clearly shows how BN values the rakyat.
Dr Mahathir sums it all: "Use the ballot box to tell the ‘rotten’ government not all is well. Or blame yourselves for the government you deserved!"

Our country is run by legislators who have vested interest in a system that is rotten to the core but one where they gain handsomely in every way. Shame on those who perpetuate this, especially those women MPs who choose to remain quiet when their sex is trampled to the ground. For they choose to be quiet because they have benefitted from this very system!
Talk about corruption!

[…] Why did Barisan Nasional’s MP need such high level instruction from the Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is also the BN’s chairman to get them to apologized over the remarks? […]
