Melayu Mudah Lupa?

During an interview by Malaysiakini, Tun Mahathir challenged the PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi over his (Pak Lah) allegation that his (Tun) sons has got bigger contracts than Scomi, a company which is controlled by PM’s son Kamaluddin.

I can swear to you that I have never said one word in his favour. And if he requires that I go into a mosque and hold the Quran and swear that I never advised Petronas to give anything to Mokhzani, I’m prepared to do so.

Like Tun or not, believe him or not, however there is one thing for sure. He holds no grudge against those who tried to pull him down during his time as the PM, was furthermore proven when he appointed one of them as the Prime Minister.

I can make up with Tengku Razaleigh (Hamzah, former finance minister) who had tried to pull me down. I have appointed Musa (Hitam, former deputy premier) to various posts. Of course, Rais Yatim (culture and heritage minister), Abdullah Badawi, all of them were re-admitted into the cabinet and who were promoted.

So now you understand why he said Melayu Muda Lupa?

Melayu Mudah Lupa

Melayu mudah lupa
Melayu mudah lupa
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya dipijak
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya retak
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya teriak
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya haprak
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya kelas dua
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya hina
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya sengketa
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya derita
Melayu mudah lupa

Dulu bangsanya kerdil
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya terpencil
Melayu mudah lupa
Tiada daulat
Tiada maruah
Tiada bebas
Melayu mudah lupa
Melayu mudah lupa
Melayu mudah lupa
Sejarah bangsanya yang lena
Tanah lahirnya yang merekah berdarah
Ingatlah
Ingatlah
Ingatlah
Wahai bangsaku
Jangan mudah lupa lagi
Kerana perjuanganmu belum selesai

A poem written and recited by Tun Mahathir during UMNO General Assembly in 2001.

The Malaysian person’s limited capacity for memory is such that a former Prime Minister of Malaysia wrote a now famous poem entitled “Melayu Mudah Lupa” (Malays Forget Easily) which has now entered the annals of Malaysian polemic literature. Ironically, said Prime Minister now experiences memory loss when questioned about dubious developments. The Malaysian memory is therefore a medical

    melayu MUDA memang selalu terlupa
melayu TUA kena lah mengingatkan nya.

its not about giving the contracts to Tun or Badawi’s sons. its about how! if they are capable and the price is right and there is competitive tender,  may the best party wins. But is it how contracts are given out?

  • yy

No la…we no need to know so much about all these already. It is well know open secret that all government contracts are for one race only.

All you need to do is : come next GE, vote opposition. They more seats that oppositions get, your frausturation and your life will be better, and vice-versa.

    Simple solution, isn’t it?

  • cina man

The malays should continue to be helped b’cos we are still unable to compete with the other races. Besides we are the pivotal race in this country and the special rights are guaranteed in the constitution.

  • funny

the reason still unable to compete is? not enough food? car? money? with a beautiful school and full funding, still cannot compete? with eveyrthing? from government to bank all owned by same ppl?

my english is not good, is pivotal doesnt stands for inferior right? or does it stand for thick face?

i see u write good english, pls go read the book “the World Is Flat”, u know wat? if malays is not performing well, every races is dead becos we are on the same ship, and trust me, i believe we sweat a lot to help this country, not the Indon or Thai whom u give out Special Bumi status.

education right and freedom of speech is guaranteed in constitution, but cannot carried out. special right have to carry out la? just for the sake of a small bunch of millionaire.

in United state, casino business owned only by red indian, the most profitable business is owned by red indian, becos, they are inferior, and poor. a normal person doesnt need privilage, do u dare to park ur car at the “Orang cacat” parking lot?

Ehem.why malay should be helped?why there is a special right 4 malay written in the constitution?simple.malay people is bumiputera.they are born here.live here far longer than other race.if u come 2 a country n there already people living there would you demand the same right n power as they?u can get ur ass kicked 4 dat by local.have some respek dude.yup we r in d same boat, but some respek is needed 4 the owner of the boat rite?.dont compare to US.they r far different.how US is formed is different from m’sia.
education rite is carried out ma…dont u see countless srjkc n srjkt spread through m’sia?buta ka?government could easily force to use 1 school only,(which they should, juz like in united states)but they dont.
freedom of speech…em yup not realy.but not as bad as singapore.

can we not argue bout dis?cmon, live happy n harmony man.perpaduan.that is d most important in majmuk country.n tolak ansur k?

o btw,ur english also good ma.

We are the majority race, we are the govt. Being the govt we set policies which we think are the best for this country. For the sake of a harmonious country the majority race have to be on par with the wealthy Chinese otherwise there might be riots. This is a democratic country, if you don’t like the policies you can vote out this govt, You can try voting in DAP or even PKR, they have promised to do away with the NEP.
Meanwhile we would appreciate if you people just respect the govt’s decision and the wish of the majority people alternatively you can consider greener pastures abroad.
