Badminton: BAM, Roslin Hashim and us

[UPDATED VERSION] It’s undeniable that Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) did a mistake for omitting Roslim Hashim from the two major tournaments in Singapore and Indonesia.

So, it’s fair for him to seek monetary compensation from BAM through legal means. Period.

However, to my real surprise, that’s not about it. He wants something which is a lot more than that. Come on, doesn’t Roslin Hashim feel ashamed of himself that he is bold enough to demand for a place in the World Championships, does he?

To put it bluntly, the reason that he is still representing Malaysia at his age together with the quality and performance level he has, that’s because backup shuttlers are not performing up to the mark. I’m sure this case has proven and furthermore exposed a pathetic situation BAM is facing in single player department

Something concrete must be done, in order to eliminate the possibility for any non-performing player to put up such a ridiculous demand in the future. Meanwhile, China is laughing hard on us.

Shame on Roslin. Shame on us.
