Tun Musa Hitam is the former deputy Prime Minister while Shahrir Samad is the former chairman of Backbenchers Club (BBC).

Both of them are from UMNO and very close to Johor as Tun Musa was born in Johor Baru while Shahrir is the current Johor Baru MP.
