Silly and rubbish: Too harsh!

Thursday, February 15th, 2007 | 4:31 pm @ SK

Describing the "silly and rubbish" statement as too harsh, Perlis Menteri Besar Shahidan Kassim came out to the defence of former Home Minister Azmi Khalid and asked Home Minister Radzi Sheikh Ahmad to withdraw his statement.

"He should not describe the earlier measure as stupid. If he wants to change what Azmi did, then do so but do not call it stupid and rubbish," he said.

"I don’t agree with this at all," he added.

Silly or not, rubbish or otherwise, the former minister had set an expectation among some of those who had applied for the MyKad.

However, for Radzi to abolish the lucky draw and calling the measure taken by his predecessor as "silly and rubbish" is again, unwanted. The best way to resolve this issue is to discuss this internally, cancel the lucky draw, donate the prizes but not to tell off your predecessor in such a disgraceful manner.

While I didn’t agree with the lucky draw being offered at the first place but with the way Azmi Khalid being blown into his face, I feel for him.

That merely shows how well our ministers communicate to each other, albeit in a different way, through press.

Act of publicity, or what?

i commented in another blog about this cancellation….

while it is good not to give those late comers any prizes… cancelling this also sort of set a bad precedent allowing the govt to simply cancel stuff… which is bad… i think.
