Chai Ho was reported as saying that "Mykad" is just like another brand name, it’s not about the proper or improper usage of language.

He asked: If "Mykad" to be renamed, would it be called "Kad aku"?

Better still ‘Touch-n-Go’ will now become ‘Raba-lagi-jalan’. I would REALLY like to see these changes done! It would be a good tribute to the foolishness of some of these hasty decisions.

How about other science and technical jargon? Do they seriously want to implement that? I dont think anyone want to translate JOYSTICK to BM. It will be tragic.

hm…all the while I thought "My" as in "My-Kad" stands for "Malaysia" in short form. But if they can just take it like that and probably add a "dot" after "My" to "My.kad" will sounds more pleasant than KadKu or KadAku perhaps.

  9. Viceice says:

To further what trist said, "MY" is not only commonly assumed to mean Malaysia, it’s also defined as such in the ISO Standard 3166-1 Alpha as the two-letter country code for Malaysia.
