4 megabits per second

TMNet plans to increase its broadband capacity to 4 megabits per second (4Mbps) in pocket by year-end from existing 2 megabits per second (2Mbps) to cater to the emerging technological evolution trend of IPTV (Internet protocol television), broadband phone, video phone and online learning, its general manager for corporate planning and services Fadhlullah Suhaimi Abdul Malek said.

"Before year-end, we will announce where the places are."

Currently, the 2Mbps is only available in high density areas in Klang Valley such as TTDI, Mont Kiara, Putrajaya and parts of Puchong.

While this blogger would love to compliment the upgrade and commitment shown, however why ain’t the 2Mbps blanket coverage before the 4Mbps roll-out?

Afterall, if high density and upper-class areas are the marketing factors for 2Mbps services, many would fall into the group too.

Whats the difference if our international links are just as saturated and routing happens instead of fast switching everwhere?

For a higher fee, of course, as usual.

When I moved recently, and switched to a higher speed, the service I get now is worse off.

    Bolehland’s Believe It Or Not:

Our neighbour down south’s lowest residential broadband’sbandwidth is 4Mbps.

Plus, it is upgraded from 2Mbps for free for all existing customers.

Guranteed 95% uptime within the contract.

(512Kbps is not even considered as broadband in the advertisements)

And guess who has the MSC?

    Believe it.
