Tun M: I thought I had made the right choice! … (3)

To a lot of Malaysians, the damage had been done.
Mixed reactions can be heard, some say former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad should have shutted up, some say he has the right to voice his opinions and remaining Malaysians choose to wait and see from the sideline.
This morning, this blogger was wondering how the whole issue is going to spin out of the loop.
Now, let’s read the outcome. Deputy Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak plays it smart, cabinet rallies behind Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Young Professional Chamber of Malaysia (PROMUDA) says Tun Mahathir has every right to air his views and what’s more, when NST’s Brendan Pereira plays the story to the extent that Tun Mahathir looks like an angry old man.
Reporters rushed to the World Islamic Economic forum last night hoping for some choice soundbites from Abdullah. He disappointed them and Dr Mahathir — it is not in his nature to get personal.
When Abdullah does speak in the days ahead, his words will not likely be steeped in venom. He knows some people on the sidelines want a confrontation, but he also knows that is not what 25 million Malaysians want or need right now.
Too many years in the past three decades have been spent in fighting mode, turning friends into foes and distracting the country from its goal of becoming a developed country by 2020.
Too many years have been wasted trying to paper over fissures in the ruling party.
Abdullah is not willing to go down that path again. Whatever the provocation. That is why even after being told that he headed a "half-past-six" administration, and after being chided in public for not going ahead with the bridge to replace the Causeway, Abdullah was happy to meet Dr Mahathir in Tokyo recently.
Dogs show it is.

Look at Pak Lah’s administration. what do we have? Our already incompetent lazy civil servant being rewarded with a 5 days week, followed by banking industry causing hardship to the rakyat and making the growht and progress of the country slowed down.
Pak Lah, you have achieved nothing, go away!

I think, those who still have confidence in Abdullah Badawi are the real ignorant Malaysians.Does Abdullah Badawi got guts??Yes,he got plenty of guts to do what he is doing now.Not just by canceling the bridge, but also by allowing his son in-law become the UMNO Youth Deputy out of nowhere.
Below is some more of Badawi gutsy move:
1.Retaining corrupted Ministers in the cabinet. He had his chance to clean it up,but he did not.Rafidah Aziz with AP’s issues is a clear cut wrongdoing in her ministry.1 of the AP Kings is her former staff.Samy Vellu is still around so many blunders in our highways. Landslide, crack on MRR2,incomplete
Matrade building in time & many more.Yet he’s still there.Nazri Aziz clearly misuse his position when he swindle a huge amount of Taxi permits to his buddies.Noh Omar rude remarks to tourist in Malaysia,he was only transfered to Ministry of Education when he should be kick out of the cabinet by his arrogant remark. And the latest of them all is the Jasin MP case.Clear cut wrongdoing by an MP for personal benefit.Still no actions.Tengku Adnan whom he left out after the General Election was re-appoint as Tourism Minister, this
guy is a crook & a crony to Vincent Tan,appointing him to the Cabinet will only make his Berjaya cronies richer! He broke his promise to fight corruptions.
2.Hikes on anything possible. Now this is my favourite. He definately got guts to say that we Malaysians must change our lifestyle because the Government thinks we should.A sudden hike of 30cents per liter on petrol(highest hike in history) which led to increase of consumer goods. The Government say they will monitor the situations to prevent the hike of consumer goods, where are they now?As far as i’m concern, consumer goods went up and i still have not see anything being done by the Government. Then the 12% hike on electricity came when Malaysians have yet to accept the hike of petrol & consumer goods. He definately got guts.I’m very confident that we will see moke hikes by year end.And don’t forget that toll prices is due to be reviewed early 2007.So don’t bet things will be ok anytime soon.
3.Badawi got guts to allow his family to make use of his positions
by making themselves richer with direct involvement on Government projects. His son Kamaludin sit on the board of Scomi. And all of a sudden, they were awarded RM2billion project from Petronas Carigali. Scomi almost went bankrupt before Kamaludin came in & was only listed on the 2nd Board. His brother herbs & spices company "Brahim" was awarded contracts for Catering services to Malaysian Armed Forces. Before this, they were making losses.Khairy Jamaludin was only a diplomat son.He married badawi daughter Nori and all of a sudden,he’s the UMNO Youth Deputy Chief. On top of that,he suddenly became rich to fork out RM9million to purchase 3% shares of ECM Libra, his current employer. He got access to all important & confidential files on Ministry of Finance and he influence Badawi to appoint his friends to sit on GLC’s even when the company is making losses. And in a time where we are all told to change our lifestyle due to all the hikes,Khairy still can waste more money on a pathetic reality football show call My Team. What is he thinking??If he have any brains in his so called Oxford skull,he should know that Malaysia should not waste more money if the economy is not good.We should SAVE MONEY you idiot!
4.Badawi got guts to say he’s not going to use the RM4.4billion subsidize money by Petronas to lessen Malaysians burden,he’ll use they money to improve our public transportation. What improve public transportation???Are you kidding me or you just think Malaysians are plain stupid??If you cancle out
more monorails project that was planned by Tun Dr.Mahathir, how can improve our public transportations? By putting more busses on the road?
That would only increase more traffic jams as bus drivers are well known as hooligans on the road!Would it make sense if we have monorails from Shah Alam,Putrajaya,Subang,Petaling Jaya all link to each other all the way to KL??So why scrap that off if you want to improve public transportation.I have a feeling you only give excuses but the real fact is you use all those money to bail MAS out of their debts.Bail Tenaga out of debts.Bail Proton out of their debts. That’s where all the money went to,and that does not benefits Malaysians at all.Not a bit!!!
You really have guts Badawi,i admit that, but if only your guts came with a brain, then maybe things would be different. And as long as you think Khairy Jamaludin is assisting you for the interest of Malaysians. You can pray hard before the next General Election.Because by then,it is far too late for you to do anyhting as then, you’ll see how many Malaysians are not happy with your actions. Your actions is not for the interest of Malaysians but only for
the interest of your families and Khairy Jamaluddin.
Tun Dr.Mahathir, keep on doing what you do best, maybe more & more Malaysians will open their eyes and see what is really going on in this country.

mushroom, let me sum it up…Abdullah Sucks!
too bad local press keep kissing abdullah’s ass. i wanna puke reading the headlines only this 2 days, not interested to read the content oso but i know its all apple polishing from those minister or party leaders.
now even the DAP do the same thing, really shows DAP= opportunist, they should just choose a side and shoot. Before this they were asking abdullah for so many questions, now suddenly acting like BN supporter. Now that TDM decided to stand up against this abdullah, they should all just back him up. Doesnt matter who is the next guy, me oredi had enough of him and his son in law. i see their faces on paper or tv oso wanna puke nowadays. Why Taiwan president’s son in law facing jail term now but khairy not?remember the ECM Libra and Avenue capital merger?
BTW, from my personal survey, 100% of ppl that i interviewed(chit chat la) not happy with abdullah, said abdullah is not performing at all….so the press are bullshitting with the sms polls…%#$@$@&

Anyway, I think DAP has their own opinion in every issue, the police reformation issue for instance, they are supporting pak lah.
I am not a DAP supporter, but this shows that they are supporting what is good for the people, not like someone who said that BN MPs should not support any motions proposed by the oppostions, they are working for the PARTY, not for the PEOPLE.
my 2 cents.

[…] First of all, Brendan Pereira failed to lift up the image of the Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. His boss, Hishamuddin Aun seems like can’t write in English. So, back to square, the Deputy Chairman of the NST Group Kalimullah Hassan has to come out and do the saint job. Several times since the crooked bridge was called off, Dr Mahathir has accused me of masterminding what he perceives as a "blackout" of him in the Press, not only in the New Straits Times group of which I am deputy chairman, but also in other mainstream media. […]
