Apple: “Come see some fun new products from Apple”

Apple Computer sent out invitations Tuesday to the media for a media event on February 28th, 2006 in order to introduce what it is calling "fun new products". The words are: "Come see some fun new products from Apple".

Apple is notoriously tight-lipped about product announcements leading up to such events, Apple’s past invitation-only events have yielded such products as the iPod nano and the ROKR, the iTunes-enabled phone Apple launched with Motorola and Cingular.
Applemania is going to strike again.

Another Apple and Jobs fantastic marketing effort…
Buzzword marketing.
1. Cheap - emails only
2. Effective - word of mouth marketing is one of the best marketing
3. Viral - everyone is talking about it and waiting for that day to come
5. Spine-chilling - everyone’s curious
6. smart - why, everyone knows about it, everyone talks about it, everyone is paying attention and it is virtually free!!!
Let’s hope it is not another apple’s ’superbowl’ failure. Great ads which gets everyone swamping to its store but no one buys anything
