Feb 8:

Samy Vellu complained weather is the real culprit for causing cracks in the Middle Ring Road II (MRR2).

Feb 9:

Allegation of serious cracks found on at least three support beams of Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH) was reported by Utusan Malaysia.

Fen 10:

Prime Minister who is concerned with the people safety, instructed the Public Works Department (PWD) to inspect all viaducts and bridges in the country frequently to ensure no faults occurred.

Feb 12:

Public had complained to the station that there were problems with the Menora Tunnel in Jelapang.

Apparently, Samy Vellu is very unhappy. He was quoted as saying that he won’t answer any complaint that was made through television station and asked public to call his mobile phone instead, in which the number was shown on screen by Buletin Utama, TV3.

"You can even call me if you are not satisfied. Don’t go to the TV stations."

"Why can’t these people channel their complaints or concerns to the relevant government departments?"

"Is the TV station doing the repairs and maintenance work? No. It is done by agencies such as the PWD, the Malaysian Highway Authority and so forth, so forward the complaints to them."

It seems that TV station was made the prime channel to highlight the highway woes as public has lost confidence towards the "relevant government departments" as how Samy Vellu called them.

Bad News: Instead of taking necessary steps to increase the efficiency, he put the blame on public and TV stations.

Good News: Samy Vellu said he is ready to accept complaint on his mobile phone and public can call him even at 1am as according to him, "No Problem."

Thanks to Buletin Utama, TV3 for putting up a page with Samy Vellu’s number, which lasted for around 5 seconds to assure that public has enough time to jot down.
