Can Prime Minister recover the will to lead?

[UPDATED VERSION] When Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s wife passed away last Thursday, public is concern on how the PM is going to handle the loss.

Simon Elegant of TIME Asia Magazine has this to ask: Can Malaysia’s Prime Minister recover the will to lead?

I certainly hope Pak Lah pull through this terrible time.

Being indulging in work is probably one of his way to cope.

Hope he won’t burn out because of that.

If he can pull this time through well (and clean up all the mess made by his kindergarden team of Cabinet and MPs – who ran amok while he tend to his personal matters), we might see another landslide GE to the (unbalance) scale.

2cents (with 3.7% inflation) Certainly, some ppl will (like to) make the passing of Datin Seri Endon as a campaign silver bullet.

I pray that our PM will bounce back stronger after this period of darkness in his life. Can’t imagine anyone else from the current crop of leaders who could do the decent thing for Malaysia.

Being a deeply religious person, he appears to be taking his loss well and his family is also providing much comfort.

However he appears to be doing too much overseas travel and would do better to avoid going to Lesotho. Maybe send the DPM and pay more attention to domestic issues.

And the Cabinet schuffle is long overdue; plus the Police Report.
