Dengue on the rise

Tuesday, September 27th, 2005 | 5:48 pm @ SK

Earlier, Singapore was under attack by the worst-ever dengue outbreak.

Next wave, Malaysia. The number of deaths due to dengue fever is escalating and even the Health Ministry is worrying with the trend.

Just like these dengue survivors, I was one of them back then in November 2004 and lucky enough to escape with a speedy recovery.
It’s a real painful experience, for sure.

So, my advise is: Stay tune, else …

At last, MAS & AirAsia …

Tuesday, September 27th, 2005 | 12:58 am @ SK

work together!

Barely a month ago, AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes invited MAS to collaborate instead of competing against each other, which brings more harm to MAS than the profittable AirAsia.

Apparently, both sides are equally happy with the arrangement to optimise the domestic traffic during Ramadhan season.

On the other hand, we Malaysians too are please with the progress.

Triple wins solution, great isn’t it? ;-)

MCA: Meeting on cruise

Monday, September 26th, 2005 | 11:40 am @ SK
[UPDATED VERSION] When ideas are scarce, MCA president Ong Ka Ting invited 38 members of central committee to hold meeting on board a chartered cruise. Quote:

"Ka Ting has so many plans and we need time to go through them in detail. There will be less distraction at sea."

"The only way out is to jump into the sea!"

Any other party to follow suit soon? Cool enough?

* * *

Over the cruise, a proposal to limit the parliamentary terms of MCA ministers to at most 10 years had been mulled over by the party leadership. Quote one of the party leader as saying this:

"We do not want our ministers and state executive councillors to have the impression that they can keep their posts for at least 10 years or two terms."

"If they do not live up to the expectations of the people and the party, they will be dropped." […]

If this idea is to be pushed through, its time for fellow minister to buck up.

Else bid farewell earlier than expected, wittingly or unwittingly, hate it or love it.

How real …

Next, Malaysia Astronaut Idol?

Sunday, September 25th, 2005 | 12:51 am @ SK

By looking at the result of the Malaysian Idol, I’m thinking IF the Malaysia Astronaut Idol really kick-off, what will happend and what kind of impact will cause to the country, in a whole?

With this, I plead every single Malaysian to think twice before you execute your so-called "voting power".

In case if you’re not aware of your democracy right, you can choose not to vote, rather than to vote for the sake of voting.

Don’t take my words for it and don’t think you’ll be surprised by the impact, though.

Mind you, the balls are in OUR COURTS now!

Malaysia Idol: The winner is …

Saturday, September 24th, 2005 | 9:53 pm @ SK

…. DANIEL!

Congrats to DANIEL and bravo to NITA too!

And the judges have this to say …

Paul Moss said:

"Agree to disagree!"

Fauziah Latiff said:

"We do it in a very professional way, I really respect them (Paul and Roslan), orang lama!"

And I specially LOVE what Roslan Aziz said:

"Apa yang paling menyeronokkan ialah semua bangsa berada dalam satu dewan sahaja!"

Thanks Roslan for the timely reminder.

Blogger BP Bites has this to say. Quote:

It’s really not about talent or making a difference. Thank you Malaysia - you didn’t disappoint me.

So I guess I won’t be expecting anything different from the next General Elections, either.

Hmmm ….

Pre-Hurricane Rita

Saturday, September 24th, 2005 | 9:25 pm @ SK

[UPDATED VERSION] While we’re in the midst of voting to decide who is the next Malaysian Idol, the story of fellow Malaysian Eric Chang in Houston touches my heart.

I pray for their safety, god bless!

GOOD NEWS!

Maxis SMS alert at 8:23pm.

Hurricance Rita lost some of its steam after making landfall early Saturday and was downgraded to category 2 storm, says the National Hurricane Centre.

This is such a big relief to a friend of mine, who has a very close friend staying at Texas.

Non-inteference policy

Saturday, September 24th, 2005 | 8:38 pm @ SK

This time, hat-off to Deputy Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak for the non-inteference policy, even though the violence intensified at the Thai border.

Unless the counterpart requests for help, else stays clean and never project a perception that we’re trying to do a dirty job by biting the hand of friendship.

Simple, if we’re not fond of external party inteference, it’s appropriate that we respect others sovereignty too.

Make sense?
