Jeff Ooi was right to brand it as Parliament Sitcom where Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nazri Abdul Aziz continues the cowboy role by acting as a taikor. The 17 minutes ‘movie‘ is hosted on DAP Malaysia Info site.
Lets recap the definition and the role of a parliament, taken from the official website of the Parliament of Malaysia to avoid any discrepancies. Quote:
Parliament is the legislative authority for the Federation, and in this capacity, it makes laws applicable to the Federation as a whole. It thus wields a considerable and far-reaching influence on the life of the Federation.Parliament passes federal laws, makes amendments to existing federal laws, examines the government’s policies, approves the government’s expenditures and approves new taxes.
However, Nazri was seen busying championing the issue of "Chin Peng Bapa Kemerdekaan DAP" than to further debate and focus on national affairs.
Worse, the voice of the Deputy Speaker Lim Si Cheng went unheard by Nazri and Opposition Leader Lim Kit siang who repeatedly demanded Nazri to retract his statement with apologize. The background echo of "YANG BERHORMAT YANG BERHORMAT" for tens of times gone deaf, giving an impression that he was powerless to curb the exchange.
Also, I did notice that Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Kerk Choo Ting, who was sitting near Nazri, was seen laughing and enjoying the show, well forgotten his 1982 reformasi manifesto when he first joined Gerakan, which is to "MARCH into BN, CORRECT BN".
End of the "action" part, 15 minutes were already contributed to unnecessary debate which never serve the least role of the parliament.
I’m sad to realise that while Pak Lah is now busy selling Malaysia oversea, some ungrateful instances were merely playing a major role in destructing the country’s reputation.
So, while I weep for Malaysia, I weep for you too, Pak Lah.

Not only YB Kerk, me myself was laughing and enjoying the show as well, and i m sure other BN’s representatives too.
Have you seen any kid trying to tease another helpless kid over some pesky little matters?
Obviously the teasing kid will enjoy more especially if backed up by other kids.
The teasing kid will pound on the poor little kid even more especially when he knows more that half of his class will not report him to the teacher whether he is in the wrong or not.
However, it is a sad case that more than half of the class does not realize that they are in the classroom to study for a purpose, and yet, the teasing kid really enjoyed what he has done, DESPITE BEING THE SO-CALLED CLASS MONITOR.
Ever wonder why "real complaints" from the rakyat never seem to reach our prime minister’s ears?
KNNCB!! Those wankers really deserve to be wacked upside down and inside out.
Minister my ass.
As redman20 and jaywalker_82 put it, it is indeed very funny but you must agree it is very disturbing as well, esp, this is how our COUNTRY LEADERS (which we voted) behave in a the parliament.
Let me restrict this comment to just those main actors in the sitcom, which is DAP Kit Siang (KS) and BN Nazri, and Malaysia as a whole.
It started of with KS being overly emotional in this speech, thus creating "disagreement" with Nazri. This is a debate, and in debate as far as I can remember back in high school, it is a very emotional game. So much of that I-want-to-win emotion that it clouds intelligence.
I must say, that KS should have said it better which in a sense will gather more support rather than high emotional tension.
Nazri on the other hand, truly shows a very disturbing behavior as a parliament member, a leader and a professional. Firstly, if you want trouble, dont get into one. This is a common sense that everyone understands but not for Nazri. He want to make a point but the example that he incorporate with is truly not the best of choice but rather show how immature this leader is.
There is much anger is KS initial speech and he want to be heard, badly. Nazri, on the other hand, throws personal attacks to either KS or DAP. What happened here? The whole sitcom, shows how disintegrated our leaders are. This is no surprise by looking at the pace Malaysia is growing now. KS has a different agenda, and Nazri has a different agenda.
The parliament became a place to vent anger at each other, to win fights, to humiliate others…rather a place to discuss about a common objective that is Malaysia.
Change is needed. But not a change of government, or parliament rules or not NEP and Chin Peng for that matter. Given the mentality and the emotional immaturity shown in the sitcom of our leaders, the same will reoccur no matter which party is the majority. Mental and emotional maturity of our leaders are a better bet. Learn to respect others even if other disagree with you also a good bet.
And, please, when in the PARLIAMENT, be a professional. And remember, you are in the parliament because you are ENTRUSTED by the rakyat to lead them to a better living and livelihood in the country we hail as Malaysia. Any other agenda which doesn’t do any good for Malaysia can be discuss over a cup of teh tarik some other time and somewhere else PEACEFULLY.
