Safety and noise barrier walls will be built on the elevated section of the Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Expressway running above Jalan 2/149 in Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, Works Minister S. Samy Vellu said Tuesday.
Safety and noise barrier walls, this is the fire-fighting measure adopted by Samy to curb the residents dissastisfaction, where the highway stands on 2 meters away from their houses.
More than 200 affected families and 1000 residents, together with the help of The Sri Petaling Residents Association, they came up with a website to garner public support, by saying that their livelihood has been destroyed and living in a health threatening condition.
What surprise the most is that the project went underway in the dark and matters related to safety and environment were ignored by the authority.
While I might not be aware of the importance of the expressway, however residents voices must be taken into consideration at first place. They have their every rights to safeguard their properties, homeyard and most importantly, their families.
I thought Samy might be interested to step into their shoes and starts questioning himself: Am I going to live or leave at this kind of place?
Leave? Smart. Live? Bullshit ….

Yesterday, some 100 affected residents staged a protest outside the Parliament building and handed a memorandum to Samy Vellu. They also invited ministers to spend a night in their houses to experience how it feels to live next to a construction site.
I remembered he was invited by Penangites to stay at Penang when he scraped the second-link plan. Now further invitations.
Samy must feel proud as the minister with the most personal invitations.
