According to WiRED.Pod, Ipoh is going to be the Malaysia very first "wireless city".
The giant wireless hotspot will enable residents within five kilometres (3.1miles) to surf the Internet anwhere in the city centre by year’s end.
This is absolutely cool and I hope it actually works too. ;-)

Hmm, there have been other metro-wide wi-fi kinda stuff in the states too, i can’t remember where though.
Time has transformed much of PJ into wireless city thru Webbit isn’t it ? Just that each of their transmitter covers a smaller zone…
No disregard to wi-fi, but in my opinion our cities in Malaysia deserve a proper functional drainage system and subway system too, not to mention decent public housing and water supply :-)
My dua det.

Hey, that’s not fair. I can’t even get wireless service where I am staying and this is KL, capital city, eh?
